My favourite Gary Vaynerchuk quotes

A while ago, I compiled quotes from Casey Neistat. Today, I wanted to share a couple of my favourite ones from Gary Vaynerchuk, aka Gary Vee.

Vee is a New York-based entrepreneur, author of bestselling books, and social media expert. He runs his own business, VaynerMedia, and is known for creating a lot of relevant content that is both educational and inspirational. Vaynerchuk is one of the most influential social media personalities in the marketing world.

#1 Engagement

“It (Twitter) closes the six degrees of separation to one degree of separation”

- Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion (2013)

Gary is incredibly smart about his usage of Twitter. He has started revolutionising the space back when he was running his family's wine shop. Engagement was one of the huge factors in his and his business' success. He engages with his audience all the time. This helps him in building rapport with the viewers of his vlog, and helps him in establishing the already prominent Vee brand.

#2 Telling a story

"Your number-one job is to tell your story..."

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook (2013)

Working for the communications industry, I started understanding the importance of storytelling. It is crucial for the clients and their businesses. A story behind products and brands build credibility and make them more authentic.

#3 Opinion of others

“I put zero weight into anyone’s opinion about me because I know exactly who I am."

#AskGaryVee (2016)

We tend to care about other people's opinions. These quite often discourage us from doing things. Gary preaches about self-awareness, knowing own strengths and weaknesses, and constant "huste."

*Note that I'm not talking about so needed constructive criticism here.

#4 Mondays

Last, but not least, something I see every Monday. Misery, and a trending on Twitter #MondayMotivation hashtag. Gary has a response to it. "What if I told you this was the last Monday morning of your life?"
