My favourite Casey Neistat's quotes

Quote inspired by Casey Neistat, above my desk.

Casey Neistat in one of my favourite YouTubers. He's truly inspirational. He not only does a lot of things that make me motivated, but he also says a lot of things that we could all learn from. For this post, I put together some my favourite quotes from Casey's famous video blogs that he has, sadly, recently ended.

On Mondays

The entire journey, entire week is ahead of you. You have everything to look forward to. (...) Also, I hate Fridays.

On productivity

I thrive on the constant stress that is having more things that I need to do, than I have time to do them. (...) I never want free time. Free time is the enemy of progress.

On being mean

It's a lot easier to be mean, than it is to be nice. Mean people on top of being jerks, are also lazy and they're uninventive. Being nice takes work. That's why I really like people that are really nice.

On risk

As a guiding principle, life shrinks and life expands in direct proportion to your willingness to assume risk. (...) Life is like this super temporary, mega fragile thing. (...) My rule is that the right time is always right now.

On playing safe

The most dangerous thing you can do in your career, the most dangerous thing you can do in life, is to play it safe.

On making decisions and finding passion

In life, you should only be doing one, of two things. That is -- figuring out what you're most passionate about, finding your dreams in life. And then two -- realising those passions, realising those dreams. The first one is much harder than the second one. If you know what you want to do, no big deal -- you can just commit your entire life to doing it you'll need to get really close or you'll die trying. But figuring out what it is that excites you, what it is that you're most passionate about in life, is really, really tricky. (...) Absolutely fixate on what it, is that I want to be doing all day long, every day. (...) I can always be confident in my actions, because I know that my ambition is true.

On figuring "it" out

The best advice I can give to how to figure it out, is to keep very, very busy. For some people that means going to college, for some people that means getting a job, for other people it can manifest itself in a million different ways. But sitting around, trying to figure it out will never yield results.

On comfort zone

I think it's the worst place you could ever be. (...) When you're wildly successful, you can embrace your hard work and be proud of it. When you're in the comfort zone, it's just "blah."

For more inspiration, make sure you check Casey Neistat's channel. Also, those videos were massively helpful in writing this post (1 & 2).
